$2.87M for nursing homes in New Hope, Golden Valley, Robbinsdale and Crystal

Senator Ann Rest (DFL-New Hope) said eight nursing homes in New Hope, Golden Valley, Robbinsdale and Crystal will receive a second round of direct payments totaling $2.87 million to help stabilize finances and ensure adequate staffing repair infrastructure and quality services for their residents. Combined with the 2023 funding, the facilities will get a total of $5.74 million of urgently-needed funds over two years.

Senator Rest said the funding – to go out this month - is the second of two rounds of direct payments being made to nursing homes across the state. It is part of a statewide nursing home package totaling $300 million passed by House and Senate DFL majorities in 2023 and signed into law by Governor Tim Walz.

“Minnesotans understand that nursing homes are critical to the well-being of families and communities across the state. That’s why I worked with my Senate colleagues to ensure that struggling Minnesota facilities have the resources they need to keep skilled staff and to deliver quality care to patients,” Rest said. “I was pleased to help secure much-needed help for nursing homes in New Hope, Golden Valley, Robbinsdale and Crystal, to help them play an important role in the lives of our seniors and their families into the future.”
