The city of Robbinsdale is adding a police camera to its community gardens. Why? Because the city reports an "uptick in produce being taken from garden plots."The city has gardens at 3602 Lake Drive and 3933 West Broadway. People applied, paid for and worked to grow their produce.Stealing produce from private garden plots is theft, and residents are encouraged to call 911 if they witness someone stealing. There are opportunities for free produce. Those without garden plots can pick up veggies left out on picnic tables. People are also welcome to harvest from the city-managed plots, which are painted blue and labeled with a sign that says "Robbinsdale Recreation Garden Plot."
