Pedestrian identified in fatal Brooklyn Park crash
The pedestrian struck and killed by a passing car July 7 in Brooklyn Park has been identified. Brooklyn Center cuts triplex project amid financial woes
The slow construction of a handful of triplexes at the corner of 61st Ave and Brooklyn Boulevard has caused the Brooklyn Center City Council to prohibit a second phase from breaking ground about a mile away. Golden Valley approves lot split for homeowning couple
The city of Golden Valley greenlighted a project to allow a couple to subdivide their two properties into three. Despite the protests of several neighbors, the city determined the request to be lawful. Plymouth-native and Robbinsdale Armstrong alumna Sierra Smith took part in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials last week, finishing 59th of 77 swimmers in the women’s 50-meter freestyle in Indianapolis with a time of 25.97 seconds, which was 1.50 behind first-place finisher Torri Huske. Golden Valley Rotarians and friends gathered to celebrate all things Rotary from the 2023-2024 year June 25 during the 25th Annual Golden Valley Rotary Awards Luncheon. Shep Harris, 2023-2024 rotary president, received the Citizen of the Year award for his work as mayor of Golden Valley for 12 years. It was presented by past recipient, Rose McGee. Julie Peterson, the Club’s treasurer, received the Rotarian of the Year award. The award was presented by past President Mary Timmons.
