    Rosas, Benedict elected to the City of Sun Prairie Common Council

    Santiago Rosas defeated Bill Baker to represent Sun Prairie’s District 2 on the common council, while Cassi Benedict defeated David Virgell to represent District 4 with all precincts reporting.

    Rosas received 894 votes (53%) against Baker’s 798 (47%), while Benedict received 699 votes (51%) against Virgell’s 673 (49%).

    Rosas who will serve his first term, has previously shared his personal goals of fostering community engagement, preserving Sun Prairie’s unique character and addressing housing affordability.

    Benedict who defeated an incumbent, has goals focused around housing, engagement and city services, and said that evaluating city services with community input will help identify areas of strength and improvement to ensure taxpayer dollars are being used effectively.

    In addition, Steve Stocker and Maureen Crombie were uncontested and were reelected to represent District’s 1 and 3, respectively.
