Armstrong boys tennis followed its 1-1 week one results with a 7-0 win over Park Center on April 9 and a 6-1 loss to St. Michael-Albertville on April 11.
The Falcons put on a dominant display against the Pirates. Jacob Merriam, Ben Breitbach and Braeden Cooper each won their singles matches 6-0 and 6-0. Luke Azoulay earned a pair of 6-1 wins for Armstrong.
Milosh Lindberg and Ben Bernloehr won a closer battle in the doubles matches, beating Park Center’s Michael Vang and Michah Allen 6-1 and 6-2. The doubles pairs of Alexander Doan and Matthew London, as well as Adam Marable and Arie Wilschut won their matches 6-0 and 6-0.
Bernloehr stood out in the tougher day against St. Michael-Albertville, picking up Armstrong’s win of the day with a pair of 6-2 wins over Dow Dickerson.
The Falcons responded with another win on April 15, beating Holy Family 4-3 with a strong showing in singles. Merriam won his matchup 6-2, 6-3, while Breitbach earned 6-1 and 6-4 wins. Bernloehr added a 6-2, 6-4 victory, while Lindberg beat Michael Lizak 6-0, 6-2.
The Falcons then faced a 6-1 defeat to Elk River on April 18. Lindberg earned a win for Armstrong, beating Bryant Komany as number four singles with a 7-6 (6) tiebreaker and a 6-2 win.
Armstrong’s singles players came up big again in a 4-3 win against Rosemount on April 20. Merriam, Breitbach, and Lindberg each won their matchups, while the doubles pair of Tristan Ehn and Doan also earned a win to top the Irish.
Armstrong will remain busy next week, taking on Totino-Grace on the road on April 23, before traveling to Andover and Blaine on April 24 and 25.
