    Park runners compete under the lights at Metro Invite

    St. Louis Park cross country participated Sept. 14 in the Metro Invite in Eden Prairie under the lights at Flying Cloud Fields.

    The girls finished 13th among 23 teams with 364 points, 60 points behind 12th-place White Bear Lake. Wayzata beat out St. Paul Highland Park 37-105, with Hopkins third (131 points).

    Park senior Eleanor Lindeman led the team, finishing 18th overall in 19 minutes and 27.5 seconds. Freshmen Finley Beam and Adeline Stewart were next, 79th and 80th, respectively. Seniors Anna Healey and Louisa Augustine were 92nd and 121st to complete the team scoring.

    Wayzata also won the boys race with 61 points, while runners-up Mounds View and Blaine each had 122 points. Park shared 19th place with Chaska, scoring 495 points each, with 18th-place Willmar only 13 points ahead with 482.

    Roseville’s Robert Mechura won the race in 14:53.9, Willmar’s Sully Anez was second in 15:23.9, and Eden Prairie senior Elijah Donaldson was third in 15:31.7.

    Park senior Paxon Myers led the team, finishing 44th in 16:59.6. Eighth grader Rowan Muggli was 106th, junior Jacob Skelly was 125th, senior Thomas Halvorson was 133rd, and sophomore Tyber Augustine was 139th.
