Falcons tennis defeat Osseo on the road

Armstrong girl girls tennis earned a 6-1 win over Osseo last week on Sept. 12 to improve to 3-6 overall this season.

Armstrong dominated the singles matchups with wins for Amelie Robinson (6-2, 6-1), Liana Gonzaga (6-3, 6-3), Evelyn Erickson (6-4, 6-2), and Mikayla Skerbitz (6-1, 7-5).

In the doubles matchups, Molly Smith and Charlotte Olejar of Osseo had the Orioles one win, beating Viveka Thomas and Corinne Williams (6-1, 2-6, 7-5).

Armstrong’s No. 1 and 3 doubles pairings ensured the win. Anna Smelser and Brooklyn Gerber won a nail-biter in three sets (6-4, 1-6, 10-7), while Mya Mosier and Chaya Freidson won a smoother match (6-2, 6-2).

Armstrong will play one game the following week, hosting Totino-Grace on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
