Armstrong girls volleyball hosted Park Center last week amid a busy week for both teams in Northwest Suburban B action.

Armstrong volleyball added a strong 3-0 win to their season Sept. 30, hosting Park Center in a conference clash. It was Armstrong’s second Northwest Suburban B Conference win of the season.
Set one began with narrow margins as both teams found early points and kept it close. Park Center’s Talisha Oganda and Shamere Chatman provided an interesting matchup with Armstrong’s Brooklyn Fondow at the net, while Norah Jaeb and Carly Ato-Davies combined for big hits with setting by Javana Peterson.
PDonalee Tongvanh and Nevaeh Johnson found some big hits for Park Center, but Armstrong separated from the pack with time and clinched a 25-10 win with electric work from Armstrong’s Peterson, Ellen Antoine, and Jaeb.
Set two also began close and competitively, but Armstrong’s Kadence Joseph helped make a difference with a series of effective serves to get the Falcons ahead for a 25-9 win.
Armstrong took an early lead in set three and reached match point with room to spare, but Park Center made sure to leave their mark with a good comeback-run to close the final score to 25-15, helped in large part by the serving of Oganda.
Other results
Park Center lost to district rivals Osseo on Oct. 1, falling in three sets (25-9, 25-14, 25-12). The Pirates record sat at 0-6 in conference, 4-14 overall.
Armstrong ended the week with a 3-0 loss to Totino-Grace Oct. 1, adjusting their conference record to 2-4, 4-10-2 overall.
Armstrong will play one game the following week, hosting Camden Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Park Center will play two games the following week to conclude their regular season, traveling to Anoka Oct. 7, after this edition went to press, and hosting Cooper Tuesday, Oct. 8.
