Sun Valley Resort, Idaho, has been named the host of the FIS Ski World Cup Final. The event, which won’t be officially ratified until September, is currently scheduled from March 22nd through 27th, 2025.
It will be the first FIS Ski World Cup Final on U.S. soil since 2017 and the first Sun Valley World Cup competition in 48 years (Sun Valley hosted the U.S. Alpine Championships this past winter).

“Bringing the World Cup Finals back to the U.S. and to a storied resort like Sun Valley is exciting for the U.S. fan base,” said six-time Olympic medalist Bode Miller. “I can’t wait to watch.”
Two-time World Cup winner Bryce Bennett shared Miller’s enthusiasm: “I’m excited to have the Finals in Sun Valley Idaho this season! It couldn’t be in a better location with a community that values and supports World Cup skiing with the same enthusiasm as the Europeans.”
The FIS Ski World Cup Final invites the top 25 skiers from each alpine discipline. International heavy-hitters like Marco Odermatt, Lara Gut-Behrami, Sofia Goggia, and Lucas Braathen are expected to attend, alongside numerous U.S. Ski Team athletes, including Mikaela Shiffrin, the winningest alpine racer of all time.

“I can’t emphasize enough the importance of the next generation of skiers seeing and experiencing the World Cup in our country. It is so impactful and essential for the growth of our sport here at home,” she said.
Numerous U.S. stops join Sun Valley’s race series for the 2024-2025 FIS World Cup tour, including Killington, Vermont, and Beaver Creek, Colorado. In total, eleven FIS World Cup events are scheduled stateside next winter.
Ski racing fans are in for a historic treat at Beaver Creek.
There, the women’s field will compete in downhill on the imposing Birds of Prey course for the first time in World Cup history. “I love that the women will be racing on the same track as the men, and I can’t wait to cheer them on in a place that is very special to me,” said Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn.
