WA teams knocked out of lacrosse playoffs

Both Wyoming Area lacrosse teams were eliminated during the quarterfinals of the District 2 Class 2A playoffs.

Claire McGrath and Alexa Kleinberger scored four goals each Wednesday to lead Scranton Prep to a 13-6 victory over the Wyoming Area girls.

The game was tied at halftime.

Lyla Rehill and Jules Gonzales each had three of the Wyoming Area goals.

The Lady Warriors, who had an eight-game unbeaten streak ended by the loss, finished 10-5-1.

Crestwood got off to a fast start Thursday on the way to a 17-4 victory over the Wyoming Area boys.

Ashton Amend led the Comets with four goals and two assists.

Ben Byers scored all four goals for Wyoming Area (6-9).
