Hughestown Lions Club grants scholarships

Each year, the Hughestown Lions Club provides scholarships to local high school graduates who have excelled in the classroom and live in Hughestown Borough. These scholarships assist students in the advancement of their college studies and help defer the growing costs of going to college. Through an application process that is available at Pittston Area High School, students can apply for these scholarships.

This year, the Hughestown Lions Club provided two scholarships to deserving students.

• Lauren Ivey was the recipient of the Dale J. Kridlo/Roy & Hilda Stauffer Academic Scholarship award and plans to attend St. Joseph’s University to study psychiatry.

• Jaiden Jadus was the recipient of the Jerry Chilipko/Clarence Hensley Academic Scholarship award and plans to attend West Chester University to study physical therapy.
