    Wyoming Area closed the girls soccer regular season and opened the playoffs with shutout wins over neighbors.

    Wyoming Area girls 6, Old Forge 0

    Top-seeded Wyoming Area got two goals each from Ella Shepulski and Ava Musinski Saturday afternoon to defeat visiting Old Forge in a District 2 Class 2A quarterfinal.

    The Lady Warriors opened a 3-0 lead at halftime.

    Alana Zdaniewicz ripped a penalty kick just inside the left post for the fourth goal and Frankie Pizano followed by scoring on a breakaway.

    Wyoming Area will host the Scranton Prep-Mid Valley winner in Wednesday’s semifinals.

    Wyoming Area girls 1, Pittston Area 0

    Ava Musinski scored the only goal midway through the first half as Wyoming Area won the regular-season finale Oct. 19.

    Jailynn Park assisted on the goal.

    Wyoming Area led 12-3 in shots on goal and 5-0 in corner kicks.

    Abby Francis made three saves for the shutout.

    Adrianna Wallace had 11 saves in the loss.

    Williamsport 7, Pittston Area girls 0

    Pittston Area’s season ended with Thursday’s loss at Williamsport in the District 2-4 Class 6A Subregional quarterfinals.

    Valley View 2, Pittston Area boys 0

    Aidan Smola and Andrew Burman scored Saturday to lift Valley View over Pittston Area in a District 2 Class 3A quarterfinal.
