Man Wounded in Shooting in Downtown Los Angeles
A 29-year-old man was shot in the stomach in downtown Los Angeles and police Saturday are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division responded to a shots fired call around 11 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Seventh Street and Stanford Avenue. When they arrived, officers learned an unknown assailant had approached the victim and shot him, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.
Freddie Freeman placed on family emergency list, Dodgers call up Hunter Feduccia
The Dodgers on Saturday placed first baseman Freddie Freeman on the family emergency list, and called up catcher Hunter Feduccia. Freeman was with the team in Houston and was originally in Friday night’s lineup against the Astros. But after some pregame drills, Freeman flew back home to Los Angeles to be with his family, with his three-year-old son Maximus hospitalized earlier in the week.
