The average rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Seattle is $2,690 a month. A new lawsuit accuses some landlords of price-fixing to keep rents above the national average. Eight states, including Washington, have joined litigation against RealPage Inc., a property management software company. The lawsuit argues that the firm allows landlords to coordinate inflating apartment prices.
Infant death in Walla Walla investigated as homicide
WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Police Department arrested Ramiro Corona Ibarra, 31, of Walla Walla on Thursday, August 15 after he allegedly physically assaulted his infant child. On Tuesday, August 27, detectives were notified that the infant succumbed to their injuries and passed away. WWPD has begun a homicide investigation.
UPDATE: Crews contain large fire near Ritzville
3:15 p.m. UPDATE -- According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, fire crews have contained a five-mile-long brush fire burning near Ritzville. I-90 has reopened as a result of containment progress on the fire. Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner says the fire wiped out two old, abandoned sheds. It was sparked by a farmer who was mowing a field. No homes were threatened. The fire started at around 12:40 p.m.
