Semi driver faulted in head-on crash that injured Beverly woman near Mattawa
MATTAWA - An elderly Beverly woman was airlifted after she was hit head on by a semi on Tuesday, according to Washington State Patrol. The crash happened on SR 243 about five miles north of Mattawa just before 5:15 p.m. 39-year-old Navdeep Jhajj of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada was going south in his semi and 70-year-old Terri Haupt-Davis of Beverly was going north. The semi reportedly crossed the centerline and hit Terri head on. Both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lanes near Crab Creek Bridge. Terri was airlifted to a Wenatchee hospital for treatment. It's not known if DUI was a factor and why Navdeep crossed the centerline.
