Deadpool & Wolverine recently crossed the billion-dollar mark at the global box office and continues to perform remarkably well. Although the film’s extensive list of cameos has enthralled the fans, they have noticed the absence of some characters from past movies based on Marvel superheroes. Arguably, one of the most prominent among them is Halle Berry’s Ororo Munroe / Storm, who appeared in a number of X-Men movies distributed by 20th Century Fox. Now, Berry has revealed why she wasn’t in Deadpool & Wolverine as Storm.

In a recent interview, Berry explained why she didn’t make a cameo appearance as Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine. Before the film’s release, there had been some speculation about Berry reprising her role in it. In May 2023, she took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a photo of herself with short white hair. As Storm also has white hair, her post fueled the speculations. So, when the movie finally came out, some fans were undoubtedly disappointed because of Berry’s absence.

The Oscar-winning actress during an interview with ComicBook.Com revealed that Ryan Reynolds, who portrays Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine and serves as co-writer and producer, never spoke to her about the cameo, though his wife, Blake Lively, did.

On being asked whether there were formal conversations about her potential return, the Die Another Day actress said, “No.” “Blake [Lively] asked me one time, I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me,” Berry added.

Notably, in a 2022 interview with the same outlet, Berry said that she would love to return as Storm (Marvel character) or even as Catwoman (DC character) from the eponymous 2004 film. “I would revisit any of them, actually,” Berry stated. “I loved all of those characters and I was always grateful to get to play them and be a part of those big franchises, you know? So I would revisit any of them.”
