Among Marvel’s multiple upcoming movies, Blade and Armor Wars are projects that have faced the most delays since their initial announcements. With Marvel looking to reduce the number of movies it launches in a year, rumors suggest that either Blade, Armor Wars, or both films, could be canceled by Marvel Studios.

Marvel rumored to make the final decision on Blade and Armor Wars soon

Armor Wars was first announced as a series in 2020, then was turned into a feature film. Meanwhile, Blade was announced in 2019 and has since gone through several delays to get its story right. But the latest rumor suggests that, due to numerous behind-the-scenes changes at Marvel and delays in the MCU’s release schedule, the studio will soon make its final decision to either continue or drop the projects.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman (via The Direct ), Marvel will decide the fate of these movies in the coming months. He reported:

“As for Marvel, they have at least five live-action series in development. I also hear a final decision on the fate of ‘Armor Wars’ and ‘Blade’ is expected in the coming months.”

Since it’s unofficial, the report must be taken with a grain of salt. After all, Marvel’s TV head, Brad Winderbaum recently confirmed that Blade is still in development. At SDCC 2024, Kevin Feige confirmed that only three MCU movies are coming out in 2025, which are Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

If Blade is not canceled and moves from its current November 7, 2025 slot, then it will likely take up 2026’s February 13 slot, leaving just the November 6 slot vacant, which currently stands untitled. Whether that release slot will be given to Armor Wars, or an upcoming sequel such as Shang-Chi 2, Doctor Strange 3, Thor 5, or Spider-Man 4, remains to be seen.

If Daniel Richtman’s source is to be believed, then the status of Armor Wars and even Blade will soon be clarified.
