While Marvel’s Disney+ shows have mostly received underwhelming reviews, the comic-book juggernauts are looking to continue with the short-format approach. Multiple series have already been greenlit, whereas some projects still find themselves in the ideation phase. Some of the confirmed and upcoming Disney+ titles include Agatha All Along, Daredevil: Born Again, and Ironheart. If recent reports are to be believed, Marvel has also begun development on Hawkeye Season 2 .

Hawkeye Season 2 reportedly in development for Disney+

Marvel is reportedly developing Hawkeye Season 2, with Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld expected to reprise their fantastical roles.

The series made its small-screen debut in 2021 and spanned a total of six episodes. It was originally envisioned to be a miniseries but is seemingly getting a follow-up edition now. The update was outed by The Cosmic Circus ‘ Alex Perez, who stated that the sequel season is currently in its early development phase. Perez also revealed that Marvel already has ideas as to how the second installment could pan out.

The debut chapter of Hawkeye marked the last time Jeremy Renner’s master archer was seen in the MCU. Since then, his return to the franchise has yet to be confirmed by the MCU executives.

Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop to have a bigger role in Hawkeye Season 2

Another piece of information disclosed by Perez sheds light on what fans can expect in Hawkeye Season 2.

According to The Cosmic Circus representative, Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop is touted to occupy a bigger role in the sequel edition. As such, screentime for Renner’s Hawkeye could decrease by a significant margin in the show.

Despite reports, no official confirmation regarding Hawkeye Season 2 has been shared by the showrunners. Moreover, Marvel’s Brad Winderbaum recently divulged in an interview that the studio has adopted a revamped approach to its development process. “We have a new system behind the scenes at Marvel Studios,” stated Winderbaum, as per ComicBook . “We’re more like a traditional studio now. We’re developing more than we actually will produce,” he added, suggesting that being in development does not necessarily mean the project will be officially confirmed.

Therefore, it is yet to be seen if a follow-up edition to Hawkeye actually gets greenlit by its creators.
