While the response to most MCU projects of late has been underwhelming, to say the least, fans are still waiting eagerly for their newly announced movies to come out. A significant addition to the confirmed slate of Marvel movies is Captain America: Brave New World , which will see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson take on the iconic mantle. Despite the excitement behind the film, the movie has experienced its fair share of production issues. In a recent discussion, actor Tim Blake Nelson revealed that Captain America 4 has already undergone multiple reshoots and changes.

Tim Blake Nelson says he shot a lot of Captain America 4 again in 2024

As per The Incredible Hulk star, the movie underwent reshoots in 2024 after its initial filming was completed.

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter , Tim Blake Nelson, who will portray The Leader in Captain America 4, disclosed that the project was reshot for the second time this summer. “Well, we’re done. I’ve shot it. I’ve actually shot it twice because I did it originally a year ago,” Nelson stated. “Then we came back and redid a lot of it at the beginning of…this summer,” he added.

Tim Blake Nelson’s comments on the development of Captain America 4 have understandably left a sour taste in fans’ mouths, who are concerned about the movie’s quality. Moreover, the much-awaited sequel has already invited controversy over the decision to cast Israeli actress Shira Haas in the role of Sabra , an Israeli mutant superhero.

Nevertheless, Nelson seems to have faith in Kevin Feige’s vision and expressed gratitude for bringing him back to the MCU. “Being brought back into the MCU by Kevin and Nate [Moore] and Kyana [F. Davidson] to be a villain alongside Giancarlo [Esposito] against Anthony Mackie has been a great honor,” the actor stated. “It’s been a really interesting adventure,” Nelson added.

The Hollywood veteran’s last MCU appearance dates back to 2008 when he played the role of Samuel Sterns in The Incredible Hulk. The conclusion of the movie teased Tim Blake Nelson’s transformation into The Leader but ended up going nowhere, until now, as the telepathic supervillain will be playing a significant role in Captain America: Brave New World.
