Deadpool #6 Reveals Just How Wade Wilson Dies

It is no big secret that Marvel Comics has been planning to kill Wade Wilson for a while. The only question is just how it would happen, given the Merc With A Mouth is darn near indestructible. The answer is finally revealed in Deadpool #6 .

Written by Cody Ziglar , with art by Rogê Antônio , Deadpool #6 finds Wade Wilson starting a family business. With his tween daughter Ellie having manifested photographic reflexes along with a healing factor, Wade decides to start training her in the mercenary arts. This decision is largely facilitated by his recent injuries and the apparent loss of his healing factor following a battle with the villain Death Grip.

Death Grip is a mystic cult leader, who seeks to master death. He intends to do this both by becoming immortal and by killing those, like Deadpool, who cannot die. To that end, he acquired the Muramasa Blade, which can negate the healing powers of those it wounds. However, this was only the start of his plan to slay Wade Wilson.

Deadpool gets his life force drained

In the closing pages of Deadpool #6, Death Grip ambushes Wade in his home while he is alone. Even with a small arsenal, Wade is easily overpowered by Death Grip.

Without his healing factor to save him, Wade is unable to resist as Death Grip magically drains the life from his body.

It is unclear precisely how Death Grip’s magic works and if he stole Wade Wilson’s soul along with his life energy. However, this would offer an explanation for how Deadpool could “die” despite the curse that allegedly makes Wade Wilson immortal. In any case, it seems highly unlikely that Death Grip will keep The Merc With The Mouth down for long.
