First Look at Marvel’s All-New Venom Revealed in Variant Covers

Many people have worn the Venom symbiote over the years. The recent Venom War event found several of them fighting for the right to bond with the alien creature. In December, an All-New Venom series will reveal the identity of the latest host. However, a series of variant covers are now teasing the identity of the new Lethal Protector.

The covers feature an all-star team of Marvel Comics ‘ most popular artists. The main cover will be handled by the legendary Adam Kubert . Others covers will be produced by Iban Coello , Humberto Ramos , Giuseppe Camuncoli , Skan , Stephen Platt, and Chris Giarrusso .

All-New Venom to be focused on mean streets

All-New Venom #1 will be explicitly closer to home than the last monthly series centered around the symbiote. Series author Al Ewing thought it important to get the Lethal Protector back to his roots. To that end, the new series will center around a new host trying to protect New York City and move away from the cosmic storylines that informed the book in recent years.

“The pendulum swings away from that and back into a much more intimate, character-based story,” explains Ewing. However, the new series will also have “a lot of that ground-level super hero action — slinging webs, slinging chains, doing the Venom thing.” Ewing further promises that he and artist Carlos Gomez will have “a couple of twists that we’re gonna have fun bringing in.”

Obviously, one of these twists will be the the identity of the All-New Venom. The first issue will tease the answer, with four figures hinted as the new host. The mask will come off at issue’s end, revealing just who the latest Lethal Protector is.
