Watch: Is This the Most Dangerous Wave of Dylan Graves’ Life?

From Montana to Alaska, and Puerto Rico to Portugal, Dylan Graves has ridden a lot of Weird Waves.

In Japan, he might have just ridden the weirdest wave of them all.

Or at least the most dangerous.

"Welcome to our journey through a wave and rock structure named 'God's Crack' located in northern Japan. I was over in Japan shooting something else entirely when my friend I was cruising with, Keito Matsuoka, mentioned he had a weird wave for me, and low and behold, there was this wave breaking between a very narrow crack in between two rocks. From the beach it didn't really look doable, so we decided to paddle out and 'have a look' but we all know what that means once you get out the back."

As you'll see, the wave (if you even want to call it that) is all risk, with no obvious reward. Best case is shooting the gap without smashing your head into a rock wall. Worst case is, well, we don't even want to think about what could have happened if Graves wasn't so damn good at guiding his surfboard through the weirdest of places.

"Oh my God's Crack," Graves laughs afterward, still shaking with adrenaline. "I thought I was gonna hit the side. That was so scary."

Graves continues: "This experience was magical. From the trail, to the story, to the scenery...I would have been stoked on just that. But the fact that we both got in the water there and attempted to surf, of course made it extra special. That was one of the coolest rides I've ever had, and all I did was go straight."

From the looks if it, that was the first (and we'd imagine it's also the last) time anyone will ever surf Gods Crack.
