Sunshine returns with a break in the humidity
Drier weather is moving in for the middle of the week. The cold front that moved through yesterday will continue to push to our south, allowing drier air to filter into the Carolinas. Today will be partly sunny and less humid with high temperatures in the 80s, which is cooler than normal for this time of year. High pressure will control our weather through the end of the week, keeping it dry. It will heat up, and the humidity will return by the end of the week. Temperatures will be back to normal by Wednesday and then above normal on Thursday through the weekend. High temperatures late this week and over the weekend will be around 90 along the coast and in the mid to upper 90s inland. There will be a slight chance of a thunderstorm on Saturday. A cold front will stall to our west on Sunday, bringing scattered thunderstorms, but no relief from the heat.
