New ‘Almost Heaven’ Swing to be unveiled at Lake Stephens in Raleigh County

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The opening of the first ‘Almost Heaven’ Swing in Raleigh County was announced by Visit Southern West Virginia and the Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority.

The ‘Almost Heaven’ Swing will be located at the Lake Stephens Overlook. The swing, which is being installed, will be opened at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024.

A partnership between the West Virginia Department of Tourism, Visit Southern West Virginia, and Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority (RCPRA) made the addition of the ‘Almost Heaven’ Swing in Raleigh County possible.

The swing will be one of 20 locations in the state selected to have an Almost Heaven swing by the West Virginia Department of Tourism.

The opening of the ‘Almost Heaven’ Swing will be at the Lake Stephens Overlook located at 1 Overlook Ave, Surveyor, West Virginia.
