Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris tapped as her running mate last week, is headed to Boston Wednesday for a high-priced fundraiser. A media advisory from the Harris campaign describes Walz’s Boston visit as the fourth stop on a six-event “national travel and fundraising blitz” that began Tuesday in California. Walz is also slated to visit Denver Wednesday before arriving in Massachusetts. He will conclude his swing with events Thursday in Newport, Rhode Island, and Southampton, New York.

State Auditor Diana DiZoglio is in the midst of an audit of the state’s emergency shelter system, according to a report from WBUR. DiZoglio, the state’s top watchdog, told the radio station she had begun a review of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities in November. Developer Proposes Converting Westborough Hotel into Apartments
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – A developer is reportedly proposing to turn a former hotel in Westborough into an apartment complex. The Waterfield Design Group has made a presentation to the Select Board and will reportedly soon go before the Planning Board with an idea to morph the former Sonesta Suites at 25 Connector Road into 109 one- and two-bedroom apartment units. The Community Advocate reports they would renovate the clubhouse and pool and add electric vehicle chargers. The developer thinks it would attract young professionals.

National Grid fails to fix methane leaks in Boston, environmental group claims
Methane leaks from National Grid’s gas pipelines in the Boston area are killing trees and exacerbating heat islands, according to an environmental advocacy organization. The Conservation Law Foundation sent a letter to the utility company Tuesday morning accusing National Grid of breaking federal and state environmental regulations by failing to adequately address the leaks.
