New Amazon facility opens in Fayetteville
The giant new Amazon Fulfillment Center near Fort Liberty is starting to show signs of life. The new Amazon facility opened in June in Fayetteville at 6309 Bragg Blvd. The 1.3 million-square-foot-facility located in the Military Business Park was supposed to open in 2023, but a representative from Amazon told WRAL News the delay won't stop the company in its plans to hire 1,000 employees at the site.

Grimesland man charged with statutory rape; victim's mother charged as accessory
A Grimesland man has been charged with sex crimes alleged by a child in his care and the victim's mother was also charged for failing to report the abuse at the pair's home. The Pitt County Sheriff's Office said in May their agency received multiple notices from Child Protective Services regarding alleged abuse. The investigation determined a juvenile child disclosed incidents of sexual abuse by Matthew Steven Mills, 34, of 7396 Pitt St., Grimesland. ...

A Henrico native who appeared on the MTV Show 16 and Pregnant in 2014 has died, multiple entertainment websites reported Monday. Autumn Oxley Crittendon died July 20 at her home in Henrico at the age of 27, following reports of a medical emergency for which Henrico Fire and EMS officials had been called. Crittendon was found unresponsive, and officials were not able to revive her.
