NAPOLEON — A Swanton man was arrested at his workplace near here this week and charged with a high-level cocaine trafficking charges with others possible later.

Andrew Moll, 40, is charged with trafficking cocaine, a first-degree felony.

Moll had an initial hearing in Napoleon Municipal Court where bond was set at $300,000 with a 10% allowance provision. A preliminary hearing, which would only determine if there is probable cause to detain Moll on the charge, is scheduled for 1 p.m. next Friday.

He also could be indicted on additional charges by grand juries in Fulton and Henry counties.

Moll was arrested on Tuesday at Campbell Soup Co. following an investigation by the Defiance-based Multi-Area Narcotics (MAN) Unit — composed of law enforcement officers from area jurisdictions — that lasted several months.

MAN Unit Commander Steven Mueller told The Crescent-News that he was found in possession of 2-3 ounces of cocaine, which is well over the threshold for a first-degree felony. He also said the amount could result in a “major drug offender” specification against Moll which would enhance the potential penalty.

Following Moll’s arrest by MAN Unit officers, Henry County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Napoleon police at his workplace, authorities also conducted a search warrant of the defendant’s residence in Swanton. They also discovered oxycodone, suboxone and adderral, all narcotics.

“He has been a fairly significant source in the six-county area for cocaine trafficking and obviously other drugs,” said Mueller.

Moll has a lengthy criminal record with several drug-related convictions in Defiance County Common Pleas Court and two in Fulton County Common Pleas Court.

He was sentenced to short prison terms following cocaine trafficking/possession convictions in 2004, 2009 and 2012 in Defiance County, according to court records, and a short prison term in 2016 in Fulton County for a similar offense. He also was convicted of cocaine possession in Fulton County in 2020 and placed on community control.
