SHS Class of 1971 Enjoys 4-Day 50th Reunion Celebration

The Class of 1971, the first freshman class to enter the halls of the new Sweetwater High School in 1967, celebrated their 50th Reunion this past weekend here in Sweetwater. Participation was overwhelming, with 99 classmates, spouses and guests in attendance. The class had 196 graduates listed as receiving diplomas in 1971, the first class to go four full years of high school in the new building. Read more

Sweetwater loses five-set heartbreaker to Snyder

Sweetwater lost a 3-2 decision to Snyder in District 3-4A volleyball action here Tuesday night. Snyder prevailed 25-20, 23-25, 20-25, 25-22, 18-16 in a match lasting over two hours, improving to 4-0 in district. Sweetwater (2-2) was on the verge two times of winning the match in the fifth game but could not close out the Lady Tigers. Read more

Sweetwater hosts Snyder at Mustang Bowl on Friday in the District 1-4A, Division II opener for both teams at 7 p.m. Sweetwater (3-3) has won two consecutive games after starting out 1-3 this season, while Snyder has a 5-1 rmark with its only loss to Jim Ned, No. 1 ranked in Class 3A Div. 1.
