The Abilene Fire Department claimed victory in this year's Guns-n-Hoses blood drive. Hoses, the Abilene Fire Department logged 165 donors. Guns, the Abilene Police Department had 154 donors. This year marked the 13th blood drive held in memory of police officer Rodney Holder an Abilene police officer who died in a motorcycle crash in 2010. The friendly competition between the APD and the AFD helps to replenish blood supplies for Hendrick's Blood Center, which serves 20 hospitals in the Big Country.
