WASHINGTON, DC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Fifteen Virginia counties — including Albemarle, Augusta, Greene and Madison — have received primary natural disaster designations from the USDA due to the recent drought. This as we stand to go back into the extremely hot, dry weather pattern that began July from which we’ve gotten a break from in the past couple of weeks. This also means counties bordering these — such as Buckingham, Fluvanna, Orange, Louisa, Nelson, and Culpeper — are also eligible for FSA emergency loans.
Motorcyclist from Crimora Dies in Route 340 Crash North of Waynesboro
DOOMS, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Augusta County north of Waynesboro. According to State Police, a 1994 Ford F450 was traveling north on Route 340, less than a mile north of Dooms Crossing Road, around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when it veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator SE.

DOOMS — Virginia State Police have identified a motorcyclist who was killed Tuesday morning in Augusta County following a head-on collision with a truck. Police said a Crimora man was on a 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator motorcycle and heading south on U.S. 340 at about 6:30 a.m. when a 1994 Ford F-450 coming from the opposite direction drifted into his lane and struck him head-on, according to Sgt.
