Rockingham County teen dies in crash over the weekend
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - A 17-year-old from Timberville was killed in a single-vehicle crash that happened along Route 259 early Sunday morning. According to Virginia State Police, around 1:35 a.m. a 2002 Honda Accord was headed west on Mayland Road at a high rate of speed when it crossed the centerline near Zirkle Lane.

Cross Country Announces 2024 Schedule
HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison cross country has unveiled its 2024 schedule, as announced by Head Coach Rebekah Ricksecker on July 31. The Dukes open their schedule at Richmond's Spider Alumni Open (Aug. 31), for the fourth year in a row. Two weeks later, JMU will be at Montpelier, the home of former U.S. President James Madison, for a Purple vs. Gold Alumni Classic scrimmage on Sept. 14. The team closes the month of September in Rock Hill, S.C. for the Adidas Winthrop Invitational on the 28th.
