ACT makes news changes for test takers
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - High school students who plan to sign up for the ACT now have some new factors to consider, thanks to some recent changes to the test’s format. The ACT test has now made several changes, including the science portion becoming optional, a reduction of the total number of questions with 44 questions being removed, shortened reading passages and four instead of five answer options for math questions. Assistant Superintendent of Rockingham County Public Schools Donna Abernathy said she still finds the full test helpful for students.

WASHINGTON, DC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Fifteen Virginia counties — including Albemarle, Augusta, Greene and Madison — have received primary natural disaster designations from the USDA due to the recent drought. This as we stand to go back into the extremely hot, dry weather pattern that began July from which we’ve gotten a break from in the past couple of weeks. This also means counties bordering these — such as Buckingham, Fluvanna, Orange, Louisa, Nelson, and Culpeper — are also eligible for FSA emergency loans.
