Infielder elects free agency after being DFA'd by White Sox
Infielder Nick Senzel has elected free agency, per James Fegan of Sox Machine on X. The White Sox had designated Senzel for assignment earlier this week and it appears he cleared waivers. Since he has more than five years of service time, he has the right to elect free agency while also retaining his salary.

Soccer Gets Another Win On The Road
The Bombers made a trip to Sycamore High School last night, and the Varsity team came home with another victory! The final score was 4-1 Bombers. In the 12th minute, senior Adam Schwab had a beautiful assist to senior Bennett Tekavec who then passed to junior Rowdy Scheer for the tap in giving St. Xavier the 1st goal of the night. The rally continued when an own goal occurred with another assist from Bennett Tekavec.

DeKALB – After an offseason of movements and preparation, college football returns to DeKalb this weekend as NIU plays host to an in-state foe to kick off the 2024 campaign. NIU and Western Illinois University will battle Saturday at Huskie Stadium for the teams’ first meeting since NIU head football coach Thomas Hammock took the reins in 2019.

DeKALB – At 11 a.m. Wednesday at MLK Commons, Food Truck Wednesdays, an NIU tradition, kicked off. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as many as 12 different food trucks were available on Normal Road for students to purchase from.
