Boil Water Advisory Rescinded for the City of Culver, Ottawa County
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a boil water advisory for the City of Culver – public water supply system located in Ottawa County. The advisory was issued because the water system could not maintain the minimum required chlorine residual. Failure to maintain disinfection residual may put the system at risk for bacterial contamination.

On Saturday, July 7, 2024, at about 3:00 p.m., a 71 year old male was leaving Walmart, 2900 S. 9th, Salina, Kansas, when he was approached by a male and female subject. The male subject had a $20 bill in his hand and told the victim he had dropped the bill. The victim indicated he had not dropped the bill and the male suspect told the victim to check his wallet.

Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan held a ribbon cutting for new Early Learning Center
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan held a ribbon cutting today for its new Early Learning Center. The new center will serve kids from 6 weeks to 5 years old. This adds to the other 13 locations across Manhattan and Wamego, which serve elementary to 18-year-olds. There are 9 classrooms and the club is licensed for 156 kids who will participate in fun activities to prepare them for school. Club members said this facility is crucial to the region.

On Thursday morning, July 18, 2024, at 6:41 AM, a law enforcement officer with the Pittsburg Police Department observed a vehicle that was not displaying any state issued license plates turn onto Amber Drive. The Officer turned his patrol vehicle around to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle and the vehicle pulled into the driveway of 1011 Amber Drive. The driver exited the vehicle and quickly entered the residence and closed the door behind him. Further investigation into the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen out of Joplin, Missouri.
