We’ll be publishing a list of music performers and showtimes every day of the 2024 NYS Fair on <a href="https://www.syracuse.com/statefair/">syracuse.com</a>.There are two main stages: <a href="https://www.syracuse.com/statefair/2023/04/nys-fair-changes-name-of-its-biggest-concert-stage-after-2-years-of-confusion.html">Suburban Park</a> and Chevy Court. Suburban Park will host the Fair’s largest concerts in the New York Experience area on the west end near Gate 10, in the back of the Midway and past the Expo Center. Chevy Court is located near Gate 1, next to the Center of Progress Building and by the Dairy Products Building. Both have limited seating available.No tickets are required for concerts. All are free with admission to the Fair, which is $8 this year — and free for seniors 65 and older and kids 12 and under. Friday, Aug. 23, is Pride Day, New Americans Day and Family Fishing Day.Here’s what to expect on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024 (Day 3):Sophie B. Hawkins - 1 p.m. at Chevy CourtHawkins is a Grammy-nominated singer from New York who recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of her debut album, “Tongues and Tails,” featuring the hit single “Damn I Wish I Wish I Was Your Lover.” The song has been called a “<a href="https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2023/apr/17/how-sophie-b-hawkins-made-damn-i-wish-i-was-your-lover">lesbian anthem</a>,” and the artist, also known as a women’s rights and LGBTQ+ activist, has been praised for her “<a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/sophie-b-hawkins-omnisexual-singer_n_6415e3b7e4b0fef152446305">daring fluidity</a>” as she “challenged the norms of gender expression and sexual orientation at a time when political, social, and sexual labels were more rigid.”Sister Sledge - 6 p.m. at Chevy CourtSister Sledge is a sister group best known for the 1979 hit “We Are Family,” plus funky disco/dance songs like “Lost in Music,” “He’s the Greatest Dancer” and “Thinking of You.” The Grammy-nominated band features founding member Debbie Sledge and more of the Sledge family, including Camille Sledge, Tanya Ti-et, Thaddeus Sledge and David Sledge, as they honor original singer Joni Sledge, who died in 2017.TLC - 8 p.m. at Suburban ParkKnown for the hit songs “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “Unpretty” and “No Scrubs,” <a href="https://www.syracuse.com/statefair/2022/08/tlc-brings-the-party-that-just-wont-quit-to-the-ny-state-fair-review-photos.html">TLC</a> was one of the most popular female music groups of the 1990s, mixing pop, hip-hop and R&amp;B. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas still perform under the TLC name since the death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in 2002; Watkins and Thomas produced the 2013 biopic “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story” and released a new album, “TLC,” in 2017.The group drew one of the <a href="https://www.syracuse.com/statefair/2023/08/25-largest-crowds-in-nys-fair-concert-history-reo-speedwagon-makes-list-for-2nd-time.html">25 largest crowds in NYS Fair history</a> in 2022 with 30,000 people at the same stage, then called Chevy Park.
