Acaden Lewis is the No. 89 overall player in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-2 point guard from Baltimore (MD) Sidwell Friends School is averaging 15.3 points and 3.6 assists for Team Durant this season on Nike’s EYBL Circuit.

“I’m just crafty, you know,” Lewis told On3 . “I like to get my guys involved first and then pick my spots where I can score. I try to stay as relentless as I can, putting as much pressure on the defense as possible, whether it’s passing or shooting.”

On3 caught up with four-star Acaden Lewis after a recent live viewing to talk recruiting.

“I’ve taken official visits to Florida State and Virginia so far,” Lewis said.

    Lewis breaks down official visits

VIRGINIA : “I’ve been there a couple of times now on unofficials, they’re not too far away. I got to go to Tony Bennett’s house and hang out with him and his family. It was good to see what their daily regimen was like and what everyone was saying. I got to talk with the transfers to see how they’re liking things. With the program, I liked that all the trainers and everything had been there for so long. It really is a culture down there.

“Since my visit, they’ve kept in constant communication. Our relationship has continued to grow and that is something I value in a school. They’ve been doing a good job.”

FLORIDA STATE : “That was my first official visit so that one was just a blessing. It was amazing to get down there and get to experience that. That one showed me the level of basketball that I am going to have to be playing in college.”

    Acaden Lewis talks recruitment

“I’ve been talking with Michigan, Syracuse, Kentucky, and a couple of other schools about visits,” Lewis said. “I don’t really have any planned yet, so we’ll see.”

*On3 reported on Thursday that Lewis set an unofficial visit with Kentucky on June 17.

MICHIGAN : “I love how Coach Dusty May plays and his style. I was a big fan of FAU and how they played when he was there. He puts a battery in his guy’s back, which I really love. I have family in Detroit. My dad is from there and my grandmother still lives there, so I have family ties there.”

SYRACUSE : “Coach (Brandon) Straughn was recruiting me back when he was at George Washington, so we already kind of had that relationship. Coach Red (Autry) has been on my trail, and he’s really brought in. It was about three weeks ago, and since then they’ve been hot on my trail. I appreciate how they’ve recruited me.”

Kentucky : “That relationship is still new, and they haven’t offered yet. They first reached out to me during the live period in Indianapolis. They told me how they like how I’ve been playing. They like how I pick my spots and have been getting into the paint and able to make plays.”

“I’m hearing from Marquette and Miami also,” Lewis said. “They haven’t offered yet, so we’ll see.”

    In his words

“I’d like to start taking my official visits basically as soon as the summer is over,” Lewis said. “June is kind of hectic with the NBPA Camp and then the two live periods. So after July, once Peach Jam is over, I’m looking to start going on my official visits. My birthday is October, so I was thinking committing then would be cool, but I don’t want to rush things.

“The culture of the school will be big for me. I want to see how they talk to the top guy, their second guy, their thirteenth guy. See how they treat their managers and everyone in the program. The roster will be big too. WIth the portal and everything going on there, I want to go into a family environment where I know the coaches are invested in me.”
