Global internet outage impacting Syracuse Hancock, Upstate hospital services

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) –- A global internet outage is affecting airlines, banks, media, and offices from the U.S. to Australia and right here at home.

We’ve just learned all Upstate Hospital locations are facing disruptions. This includes outpatient services, procedures, and lab appointments. If you have an appointment this morning, call your doctor’s office.

Overnight, American Airlines, United, and Delta asked the FAA for a global ground stop on all flights. The FAA is telling air traffic controllers to tell pilots, that airlines are experiencing communication issues.

At Syracuse Hancock International Airport, one flight has been canceled, a number of other flights are telling passengers to, “go to the gate.” Other flights are still scheduled to depart “on time.” Long lines are being reported at the airport.
