DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — Thousands of homes in Davis County lost electricity Sunday evening, but the outage was fortunately restored much earlier than expected.

Rocky Mountain Power announced around 7 p.m. that 18,900 customers were without power in Clearfield, Syracuse and West Point.

The company initially said the estimated time of power restoration was 6:30 a.m. the next morning. However, the RMP power outage map showed around 9 p.m. that all had been restored except for one customer.

The cause of the outage was initially said to be under investigation. The company later stated that the cause was a damaged line.

FOX 13 News will update this article as the situation develops.
