On Saturday, April 20th, select members from the Meade County High School Track and Field Team travelled to downtown Louisville to participate in the Eastern Relays hosted at the University of Louisville Track and Field Complex. Over 150 high schools from across the mid-West competed in the annual event that aimed to see who had the fastest and strongest athletes in the area. As always, Meade County High School performed exceptionally well. Although they were not able to pull out any first-place finishes, the high school boys’ 1600-meter record was broken by Mikie Carnell with a time of 4:19.48 and a full mile time of 4:20.99. Additionally, the boys’ 4 x 200 relay team consisting of Chad Dahl, Mitchell Staples, Ethan Kaiser, and Grant King set a new school record with a time of 1:32.46. The team looked extremely strong and aims to place well in the upcoming conference and regional tournaments in May. Individual results from the days’ events are as follows:
