Fire breaks out at downtown Rice Lake restaurant
Fire broke out Thursday afternoon at Cheese Louise Sandwiches downtown Rice Lake. The sandwich shop opened with the slogan “Cheese the Day” in April 2023 in the building it shares with Agonic Brewing Co. on east Messenger Street. The former feed mill has been the site of many businesses. "Your local brewery is unfortunately currently up in flames," Agonic Brewing posted on Facebook Thursday afternoon. "For the foreseeable future, we will be closed, and all events canceled." This will include the book launch of Mary Pautch's first book, "Cabin Candy," that had been scheduled for Friday evening. "The local fire team is here doing everything they can to help us, and everyone is out and safe," Agonic Brewing continued. "For the time being we ask for space, and to keep us in your thoughts." This story will be updated.
