New WSU Course to Explore Infrastructure and Racial History in East Pasco
The new graduate course, Issues in Architecture (Architecture 542), is a joint effort by Washington State University Pullman and WSU Tri-Cities. Set to start in spring 2024, the course will examine infrastructural racism, focusing on its impact on east Pasco's built environment. It aims to uncover the racial history of the area and highlight the experiences of its marginalized communities.
RSD School Board approves bond onto November ballot, third high school attached
RICHLAND, Wash. — At Tuesday’s school board meeting on May 14, 2024, the Richland School District Board of Directors approved a motion to run its bond in the upcoming general election, totaling $314 million. This includes several projects, including the new comprehensive high school that’s been a topic of discussion for a number of years.
Fivay High School Resumes Normal Operations After Nearby Disturbance
Fivay High School temporarily enhanced its security due to a disturbance at a nearby business, as investigated by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. The incident, which occurred off-campus, posed no threat to the school's students or staff. After the situation was resolved, the school resumed normal operations.
