Flint proposal would pay out-of-pocket mental health expenses for first responders
FLINT, MI -- The city would reimburse the out-of-pocket mental health expenses of Flint police officers and firefighters under a plan Mayor Sheldon Neeley proposed. Members of the Flint City Council gave initial approval to a resolution authorizing the allocation of $200,000 in federal stimulus funds for the new program during a committee meeting this week and could make the approval final when they meet on Monday, Sept. 8.
