Shooting suspect high on PCP had been suspicious of victim
MINNEAPOLIS — Charges have been filed against a 38-year-old man in Tuesday night's fatal shooting near First Avenue South and East 19th Street. According to the complaint, video surveillance shows the suspect got into an argument with the victim — 24-year-old De'Jaun Marquise Michael Hall. The complaint goes on to say Hall ran away from the suspect after he pulled an item from his fanny pack. Hall was then shot in the back. While Hall was on his back with empty hands raised, the suspect allegedly walked over and shot Hall two more times. The criminal complaint states police arrested the suspect at a hotel on Thursday. Police searched a vehicle linked to the suspect and found the fanny pack with a 9mm handgun inside. In an interview with police, the suspect admitted that he was smoking PCP and that he didn't remember what was going on in his mind when he shot the victim. The complaint also states that the suspect later told police that he shot Hall in self-defense and that he was suspicious because the 24-year-old was "wearing a hooded sweatshirt on a nice day."

Oh, a few scenes on the internet, here and there. Enough to bluff my way through a Potterverse conversation. And even though I've been to London's King's Cross tube station at Platform 9-3/4, I've sadly not seen any of the eight Harry Potter films.

St. Cloud Transitioning 3 Parks Into Splash Pads
The city of St. Cloud is in the process of transitioning 2 parks from wading pools to splash pads and are added a wading pool to one additional park this fall. That according to St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis, who joined me on WJON Friday. He says both Centennial Park and Haws Park are transitioning from having wading pools to splash pads while 10-10 park (located in southeast St. Cloud) will be adding a splash pad. Kleis says the money to pay for these improvements is coming from a ballot referendum question that was passed by voters in 2022. He says splash pads don't require the hiring of staff and are easier to maintain. Kleis explains the challenge of finding the required lifeguards needed to staff 7 wading pools in the community has been very difficult over the years.
