Gov. Reynolds orders flags at half-staff to honor fallen Pearl Harbor sailor from Iowa
(Des Moines) Governor Kim Reynolds has ordered all flags in Iowa to fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday, September 9, 2024, to honor fallen Navy Fireman 1st Class Everett C. Titterington who was killed at Pearl Harbor during World War II. He was from Milford, Iowa and will be buried in Riverside National Cemetery in California.
Gov. Reynolds, Iowa Department of Education award nearly $4 million in charter school start-up and expansion grants
(Des Moines) Governor Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Education today announced that 11 charter schools will receive a total of nearly $4 million in grant funding through the Iowa Charter Start-Up and Expansion Grant program. The grants will support new charter schools as they prepare for future operation as well as existing high-performing charter schools to improve or expand their classroom and course offerings.
