Registration underway for Kingwood 5K Run and Walk
The 14th annual Kingwood 5K Run and Walk will be held on June 8. Check-in and registration begins at 7:45 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m. in front of the Kingwood Hall. The chip-timed 5K is open to all abilities and ages and will allow participants to enjoy a beautiful course within Kingwood Center Gardens and along the B & O Bike Trail.
11 Richland County baseball players selected to All-Ohio Cardinal Conference teams
MANSFIELD — In all, 11 Richland County baseball players took home All-Ohio Cardinal Conference honors for the 2024 season. Madison's Cameron Kuhn was joined by Lexington's Jaxon Brown as the lone first team selections. Kuhn led the Rams with a .368 batting average with 35 hits, 10 doubles, two home runs, 13 RBIs and 19 runs scored. Brown hit .310 with 18 hits, seven RBIs and nine run scored.
Eight Richland County softball players earn All-Mid-Buckeye Conference honors
MANSFIELD — In all, eight Richland County softball players earned All-Mid-Buckeye Conference honors for the 2024 season. Lucas' Maddie Boyer and Alyssa Shay joined Mansfield Christian's Noel Cline as first team honorees. Boyer hit .354 with 23 hits, three doubles, two triples, a home run, 13 RBIs and 20 runs scored while Shay hit .346 with 18 hits, 13 RBIs and 20 runs scored. Cline made headlines earlier this season when she tied an Ohio High School Athletic Association record with two grand slams in one game in a 17-5 win over Wellington.
Lexington wins first outright Ohio Cardinal Conference softball title in 19 years

Loudonville makes three new hires in athletic department
Three new faces will be a part of the Loudonville athletic program going into the 2024-2025 academic/athletic school year. In a press release, the Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District introduced three new hires in the athletic department: Chad Spurlock as the athletic director; Daryl Young as the girls basketball head coach, and Ed Honabarger as the head football coach and Loudonville High School assistant principal.
