Search and rescue teams save hiker in "difficult to access location"
El Paso County Search and Rescue (EPCSAR) came to the rescue of an injured hiker in the vicinity of Old Stage Road on Friday evening. According to a social media post from EPCSAR, they received a call for the injured hiker on Friday evening. The team hiked in and found the hiker in a "difficult-to-access location." Because of the injuries and the terrain, EPCSAR called the Colorado Army National Guard for assistance. The hiker was hoisted out of the area and taken to additional medical care. The Instagram post reads "A huge thank you to @co_nationalguard, @colo_sar, @canonhelitack and our amazing team members for a successful outcome to a tough mission."
