The city of mysterious Bishop Brown’s haunted house, Galion, once again prepares to witness the unknown. The Magical Moon gift shop will be the site of Crawford County's first Witches' Market, planned for every other Saturday from June-August, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., in the shop's parking lot, 1102 Harding Way East.
United Way of North Central Ohio surpasses Community Campaign goal
For the third consecutive year, United Way of North Central Ohio has met its annual Community Campaign goal before the June 30 end of the campaign cycle. “This is the earliest we’ve gotten to 100% since the pandemic, and we've not only reached the higher goal set for the year by our board of directors, but we’ve exceeded it,” said Amber Wertman, UWNCO CEO.
Marion government offices to close for Memorial Day
Marion City departments will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. The Sanitation Department will not collect trash, recycling or yard waste that day. Residents who normally have sanitation service Monday should have their collections curbside by 7 a.m. Tuesday. Crews will collect trash for both Monday and Tuesday throughout the day Tuesday, with the possibility that part of Tuesday’s collection extended into Wednesday.
Marion motorists alerted to street closing
Vine Street, between Church and Center streets, will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday. Traffic controlwill be in place to detour traffic. Underground Utilities, under contract with Aqua Ohio, will have crews working on a waterline at this location in conjunction with the Mount Vernon Avenue waterline replacement project.

Staffing issues limit pool operation at Aumiller Park
Aumiller Park Pool will open Memorial Day weekend, but hours will be limited due to the lack of certified lifeguards. The hours May 25-27 will be noon-6 p.m. Starting May 31, the pool will open Friday-Sunday weekly noon-6 p.m. Updates will be posted on the Aumiller Park Pool Facebook page.
