Clear Lake Residents Alert: S.D. Highway 15 to Undergo Major Grading Work Starting April 15
Work is set to begin on S.D. Highway 15 in Clear Lake on April 15, 2024, as per a South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) press release. The 12-mile stretch will be divided into sections for grading at different times, weather permitting.
End of Temporary Sump Pump Variance: Local Residents Must Redirect Discharge from Today
The temporary period allowing sump pumps to discharge clear water into the sanitary sewer ended today, April 1, 2024. From this point forward, sump pump water should be directed away from the sanitary sewer to an appropriate location such as a yard, street curb, or gutter. It's important to note that discharging sump pump water into the sanitary sewer is not allowed and could result in penalties, including a fine and possible jail time.
Attention Residents: Recycle Route A Collection Begins April 1, 2024
The Public Works' Solid Waste Division has announced that Recycle Route A will be collected during the week of April 1, 2024. This route includes the area north of 3rd Ave N, Lake Kampeska, and Derby Downs. Residents should put all recyclable materials in the provided tan container for bi-weekly collection. Watertown Residents: Prepare for Yard Waste Collection Starting April 1st, 2024
The Watertown Regional Landfill's yard waste collection service will start on April 1st, 2024. The yard waste truck will follow the regular garbage collection schedule. Residents should put their green 95-gallon yard waste containers out the night before their collection day and take them in after collection.
Coding County group earns $100,000 grant to address substance use in the community
A surprise announcement highlighted Tuesday’s meeting of the Codington County Board of Commissioners. Sara Foust, director of the county’s Community Services Office, said a team of six individuals had earned a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Program. Only 12 teams and 13 individuals throughout the U.S. had earned the grant, called Reaching Rural: Advancing Collaborative Solutions.
