Spring Yard Waste Disposal for Watertown Residents Starts April 16th
The Watertown Regional Landfill, part of Public Works, has opened its Spring Yard Waste Drop-off Site. It will run from Tuesday, April 16th to Saturday, April 20th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding Sunday and Monday. The location is east of Municipal Utilities at the 4th Ave. S.W. Bridge.
To participate, residents should place items on their boulevards starting April 20-21
The City of Watertown is thrilled to announce the return of Annual Citywide Cleanup Week, which will kick off on Monday, April 22, and continue through Thursday, April 25.To participate in this community-wide initiative, residents are required to place items on their boulevards starting on Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21 to ensure collection during Clean-Up Week.Please note that the city will not return to an area, emphasizing the importance of timely placement of items. Residents are kindly reminded not to set out items prior to Saturday, April 20 as this is a violation of city ordinance. Additionally, items should be sorted into two piles:
April 15, 2024: Recycle Route A Collection and Ordering Additional Containers in Watertown
The Public Works' Solid Waste Division has announced that Recycle Route A will be collected during the week of April 15, 2024. This route includes areas north of 3rd Ave N, Lake Kampeska, and Derby Downs. Residents are asked to combine all recyclable materials in the provided tan container for bi-weekly collection.
Watertown's Annual Clean-Up Week: What Residents Need to Know

Watertown Rolls Out 2024 Mosquito Control Efforts to Combat West Nile Virus
The City of Watertown is preparing for its 2024 Mosquito Control Program to reduce the risk of West Nile Virus, which is spread by mosquitoes. In Watertown, located in South Dakota, 43 mosquito species exist, but only 19 can carry the virus. Although few mosquitoes carry the virus and human infections are rare, the city is committed to effective mosquito control.
