Firefighters rescue woman from burning house in Pflugerville
AUSTIN, Texas — Firefighters in Pflugerville rescued an elderly woman from a burning house on Wednesday evening. Firefighters with Travis County Emergency Service District (ESD) No. 2 were called to the home located in the Villages of Hidden Lake, near Lake Pflugerville, just before 6 p.m. When they arrived, they found an unconscious woman on the second floor of the residence surrounded by heavy smoke.
1,200 volunteers needed for Austin homelessness count
As the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO) kicks off for its biannual Point In Time (PIT) Count for January 2025, the nonprofit is seeking around 1,200 volunteers to help make that possible, according to a news release from ECHO.
